This is Tobias op den Brouw's blog about IT solutions - my SolutionBrewery! The blog's purpose is to share the sweet and the bitter I run into both in my (private and business) coding as well as in IT projects, because it just might be useful to someone (if you have a need, you will google for a solution. You may find me. Hello!). I also air (IT) thoughts/trends that I think won't hurt adding my voice to. They may be original to me, they may not be, but unless I air them, I'll never know who else out there (dis)agrees, right?
As I also occasionally develop stuff or apply technologies on this domain, I might occasionally break the site. If you want to contact me, please do.
I could not resist altering the default technology a bit: most of the hacks have disappeared after the upgrade to 1.5. Remaining changes from vanilla BE are:
- Modified oldschool theme.
- Use MySql backend.
- Apply shadowbox extension.
- Edited PostView.ascx.
- Added the snapshot extension from www.thinkedge.com (Ad proceeds go to UNICEF until I decide otherwise).
As to my development and project solution style: I like to connect the dots (analysis), put multiple things and people together and make them humm (added value, backing within the organisation).
Technologically speaking I like both MS products and Open Source, but as there's too little time to know it all I focus on ASP.NET, SQL and Delphi. I certainly don't need to invent the wheel any more, but I at least need to be able to slap together a prototype from availble tech.
